Caring for Braces

Our doctors recommend brushing 3 times a day when patients have braces. Since certain foods can break down the wires and brackets, we suggest avoiding them. It is best to stay away from any foods that are hard/crunchy, sticky, or chewy. Examples of these types of foods include chewing gum, gummy bears, nuts and popcorn, chewy and hard candy, ice, hard pretzels, corn on the cob, apples, and bagels.
