InvisalignIt’s never too late to get a straighter smile in South Charlotte.

While braces might seem like they are meant for kids, you would be surprised to hear how many adults are also opting to get braces. In fact, about 20 percent of all braces wearers are adults. However, most adults can agree that they don’t want to deal with wearing bulky metal braces during their treatment. Luckily, they don’t have to with Invisalign.

About Invisalign

Invisalign is a revolutionary new set of braces that does away with metal brackets and wires and instead opts for clear plastic trays. These custom-designed aligners go over the upper and lower teeth to straighten your smile quickly and effectively. These aligners are removable and most patients wear anywhere from 18 to 30 different aligners throughout the course of their treatment, depending on the severity of their case.

Getting Invisalign

Once we deem you a good candidate for Invisalign we will take impressions of your smile and send this information to a lab, which will use our information to create customized aligners to help move your teeth into the proper place. Once these aligners are designed we will have you come in for your first fitting to make sure your Invisalign is comfortable and fits properly.

You will continue to come back every eight weeks to make sure that your Invisalign aligners are working properly and that your treatment is progressing as it should. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks and is only removed to brush, floss, and eat and drink. After two weeks you will replace your aligner with a new set in your treatment series.

Invisalign Candidates

Invisalign is a good option for teenagers and adults who are looking to fix common dental issues:

  • Overcrowding
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Crooked, twisted and protruding teeth
  • Malocclusions (e.g. overbites, underbites, crossbites, etc)

Invisalign can handle most mild to moderate cases, as well as some more serious cases. We will be able to decide whether Invisalign is right for you once we examine your smile.

If you are looking to get a straighter smile, there has never been a better time than now. Your South Charlotte dentist, Dr. Richard Bateman is currently offering a coupon that takes $300 off the regular Invisalign price. Call Park Crossing Dentistry today to schedule your orthodontic consultation and take advantage of this offer before it disappears.

From one of our favorite patients, June. Thank you Miss June for the nice note!

Benjamin Franklin once said “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.  That is true for many things in life, and especially when it comes to your dental care. With such busy schedules in our daily lives, we eat and drink on the run as well as get to the end of the day and fall into bed at night without proper tooth care.  We think everything is okay since nothing hurts.  Most of us relate problems in our bodies with the pain we feel. When it comes to our teeth, however, this couldn’t be farther from the truth.  Most often by the time we feel the pain, there is a real issue that just won’t wait.  Seeing your hygienist at least two times a year can help to avoid painful and costly procedures later.  They have the right tools for maintaining healthy teeth and gums.

Yes, it is! You can practice preventive dentistry yourself by adopting these healthy habits: brush your teeth twice a day, floss between teeth once a day, and eat a balanced diet. Always schedule regular dental visits to maintain your healthy mouth. Catching any disease early not only helps your overall health but also saves you money. By following a healthy dental routine and making smart food choices, you can lower your risk for tooth decay.
